Don’t miss our pre-season program kicking off this weekend!

We have an exciting pre-season planned for February and March. Given our 2021 season was cut short, we are keen to ensure the girls and boys are as prepared as possible for the upcoming season.

The program includes.

1) Tackle School (for U8 to U11 age groups)

With tackle effectiveness and safety our highest priority, we are offering this program for all players and coaches in the above age groups.

PLAYERS: Over 4 weeks, players in the younger age groups will be taught the correct tackle technique to build confidence leading into the season.

COACHES: The sessions are equally as important for coaches to attend as the opportunity to learn how to coach the correct technique.

• For both players and coaches
• Starts Sunday 6 February and continues Sunday 13 February, Sunday 20 February and Sunday 27 February
• 8:00am to 8:45am – U8/U9 age groups
• 8:45am to 9:30am – U10/U11 age groups
• Location: Balmoral Oval
• Cost: Free (for 2022 registered players).
• Note: players must be registered to attend

2) U10 Pathways Program

The pathway program has been run over the last few years to prepare players and coaches from the U10 age group as they transition from Mini’s Rugby to the SJRU Junior Competition.

• Run by Nick Bousie – Director of Coaching
• Tuesdays – 8 February 2022, 15 February 2022 and 22 February 2022
• Location: Rawson Oval
• Time: 6-7pm
• Cost: Free (for 2022 registered players)
• Note: players must be registered to attend

3) Specialist Skills Sessions (by position) for U11+

Tight 5  

• All front rowers and locks u11 and up attend to ensure safe scrummaging
• Dates: 8 February 2022 and 15 February 2022
• Location: Rawson Oval
• Time: 6.00pm
• Coaches to attend also

Inside Backs (1/2, 5/8 and inside centres)

• U11 and up – all scrum half,5/8 and inside centres
• Dates: 15 February 2022 and 22 February 2022
• Location: Rawson Oval
• Time: 6.00pm
• Coaches to attend also

Outside backs school (outside centre, wings and fullbacks)

• U11 and up – outside backs, incl fullbacks
• Dates: 15 February 2022 and 22 February 2022
• Location: Rawson Oval
• Time: 6.00pm
• Coaches to attend also
