2020 SUMMER TOUCH is coming!!

2020 Summer Touch FAQ

 

Additional time slot now available for YR K/1 Mixed.

16.30 – 16.55pm. This will only run with a MINIMUM of 4 additional teams.

Once we have the minimum number of teams registered, you will be sent a confirmation with a link to send to your individual players for payment.

When does 2020 Summer Touch start?

Wednesday 28th October and Thursday 29th October 2020

 

How long does it run for?

7 weeks.  Finishing on Wednesday 9th or Thursday 10th December 2020

 

What nights/time slots do I register my child for?

Wednesday nights – commencing Wednesday 28th October 2020

Can I use an Active Kids Voucher?

No.  MJRC Summer Touch is not a registered Active Kids provider.

 

How many people in a team?

MINIMUM of 6 players per team

MAXIMUM of 8 players per team

 

How many people on the field at any one time?

6 players

 

What if I have 9 players?

With 6 players on the field at any one time, more than 8 players per team does not allow for adequate playing time.  Teams are capped at 8 players.

 

Is registration by age?  Ie: U7’s?

No – registration is by school year group only.

 

Can my child play in a different year group?

It is recommended that players are enrolled in their school Year.

Playing down a year group is not permitted, playing up (one year only) is permitted.

 

Do the teams have to be single sex or mixed?

Teams are recommended (ie: year 4 boys, year 5 girls, year 7 mixed), but not compulsory.

No minimum ratios required.  Ie: can be all one sex, can be 7 boys, 1 girl etc.  It is at the Managers discretion.

 

My child doesn’t have a team, can I still register them?

No, we are no longer taking individual registrations.  Registrations must be team based.

If you are an individual without a team, email Emily with the below details.   MJRC will make every effort to put you in touch with teams looking for players.

My team is short on layers

If you form a team and are short of players, please send email Emily with your team name and requirements.  MJRC will make every effort to put you in touch with individuals looking for a team.

 

What does my child wear to play?

Any comfortable active wear and trainers (no football boots allowed).  Bibs will be provided on the night to identify teams.

Headgear and mouthguard are not required.

All children must bring their own drink bottle.

 

Do you need to know how to play?

There is no grading and we welcome all abilities.  If games are unbalanced, we may mix teams on game night to provide a more competitive game.  This is entirely at MJRC’s discretion on the night.

 

How many teams time slot?

Capacity is strictly capped at 8 teams per time slot.

We will take expressions of interest for additional teams if required.  Depending on numbers, we may be able to accommodate you.

 

Do we need a Team Manager?

Yes, teams will not be able to be registered without a team manager.

All teams are to be formed by the team manager.

Team substitutions on game day are to be managed by the team manager.

MJRC are unable to manage your teams or substitutions for you.

 

How do I know who I’ll be playing and where?

Communication will come out weekly via email as well as posted on the MJRC socials.

There will also be a whiteboard available at each game to confirm draw.

 

Will there be a ladder/finals/Trophies?

No.  MJRC Summer Touch is a social, mixed ability competition.

 

Will MJRC Summer Touch be COVID safe?

Yes, all COVID safe procedures will be followed.

QR code sign in will be required on all nights.

All spectators will be expected to adhere to social distancing requirements.

All balls will be sanitised between games.

 

Will there be a food offering available on both nights?

Yes, the canteen will be open.

There will be a food offering.  Details will be provided closer to the commencement of the season.

 

How to register for MJRC Summer Touch.

Team registrations open at 5pm Wednesday 9th September

  • Form a team and nominate a team manager.
  • Check what Year Group you are registering your team for (details above)
  • The team manager is to go to Try Booking and register their details as well as team name.

Once a day, new team registrations will be updated (any duplicate names will be notified).  A link for individual registrations will sent to the team manager to forward to their players.

Players can then register by selecting their team name from a drop-down list and pay their $100 per player registration fee.

The team manager is to advise their players what the team name is.

 

Fine Print

Teams that do not have a minimum of 6 players registered by 5pm Friday 23rd October will be de-registered.  Any individuals that have paid will be refunded.

All players must be registered.  Non registered players are not covered by insurance and therefore cannot play.

MJRC are unable to form or manage any teams.

MJRC makes no guarantees that we will be teams looking for players, or individuals looking for teams.
